I was going through one of the toughest phases of my life but was unable to understand the nitty-gritties of how one must live in the grander scheme of things. I felt I wasn’t really getting anywhere, from a spiritual, emotional and a psychological context. I was full of fear and insecurities. I, albeit with my seemingly limited intellect, tried extremely hard to manipulate situations in order to forcefully carve my way through life and figure out my place in it, but to no avail.
I started to have regular one to one sessions and was soon introduced to the concept of “Complete Surrender.” We, as humans, have a tendency to be attached to materialistic things, situations and people. I learnt that by surrendering all that we cherish, including our very existence, fears, traumas and experiences of the past to the Divine Presence within; we can work towards a state of absolute liberation.
I decided to integrate this concept in my life and in my outwards actions. Initially, it was an excruciatingly difficult process to carry out, but with a deep faith in the Divine, and trust in the process, I practiced surrender regularly. I kept my faith and continued to offer “myself” and “all that belongs to me” to the Divine.
And here lies the beauty of this approach: when there will not be a “me” left, and each and every trace of my existence will melt and merge with the supreme, only Divine’s Grace will remain. I would be able to carry out the Will of the Divine, as an instrument.
It was revealed to me that true liberation comes with a complete surrender to the Divine Presence within and not before that.
